Happy Campers

Scout Hut Sleepovers

Every member of the group, from every age group, gets a chance to sleep over in our hall.  We've had all sorts of themes from I'm a Scout, Get Me Out Of Here to Night Hike to Mad Scientists.

The theme is not always important - what is important is that it gives everyone a chance to do an overnighter with us!  We're close to home so great for those that are not used to being away from family and the cost is just a couple of pounds!

It's not all about camping - but it's one of the things we do that people remember for a lifetime!

And rightly so! Whether it's a single night indoors just down the road or a week in a tent much further away, our nights away offer unforgettable experiences and lasting memories with friends!

Here are some of our recent highlights:

Whole Group Camp

Every other year, we take the whole group over to Woodhouse Park near Bristol for a weekend of adventure!  Our most recent trip was with 100 people!

Summer Camp

Cubs and Scouts get away for a week in the Summer.  One of our favourites is to the South Coast so that we can make a day trip to the birthplace of Scouting: Brownsea Island.

Expedition and survival Camping

For our Scouts, a self-sufficient expedition or sleeping in a bivvy they've build themselves is the ultimate challenge!

Camping with others

Being on a site with 1000 (or 2000!) other people gives a real sense of belonging to something much bigger.  Regular favourites include Portcullis Camp in Monmouth for the whole group and the All Wales Scout Camp in Builth Wells.

We were also thrilled when one of our Young Leaders was accepted as part of the UK contingent travelling to the World Jamboree in the US and we were excited that one of our adult leaders got to spend Summer on an international Scout Campsite in Kandesteg, Switzerland!

Winter Camp

The Summer's great, but why not get away in the winter too?
